■Y/N's POV■

"Takao: please, be okay, please..."

I feel a slight pain in my head, slowly I open my eyes and the sudden light surprises me, making me brings hand to cover my eyes.

When my eyes can finally adjust the light and my sight became clearer, I fiund out that I'm in my room. The door slides open and Nonoka enters the room, eyes widened as she sees me.

Nonoka: Oh my god! Thank goodness you're awake...

Nonoka runs to my side as I tried to sit, she helps me to fix my position. Nonoka brings a glass of water for me to drink.

Nonoka: how are you feeling? Is your head in pain? Gosh, you fell and your head scrapped something sharp, probably branches. It makes a small cut but the blood is quite a lot you almost make me faint as well...

Y/N: I'm sorry Nonoka... I'm not careful enough...

Nonoka: it's not your fault... Minami said she tripped and bump onto you... and you guys just had to be near a small ravine...

Nonoka calls the doctor and she checks on me. Thankfully there's no serious injury. After she checked on me, the nurse left some ointment for some scratches on my arms and legs before leaving the room.

Nonoka helps me to put the ointment on my wound, it stings. Thankfully the treasures hunt still running, they didn't stop it because of the accident, if they did, I'll feel guilty and so does Minami san.

Just then, I remember Takao's voice telling me that I'll be okay. The faint memories of Takao's back as he runs through the wood came into my head.

Is it... really him?

Y/N: Nonoka?

Nonoka: yes, is anything wrong? Anywhere hurt?

Nonoka looks so concerned and I shook my head no.

Y/N: I um... Nonoka... who helped me from the ravine?

Nonoka looks stunned and she looks away, she continues applying the ointment on my wound. The silence that came from her give me a clear idea about who might the person that help me be.

Y/N: Nonoka... is it... Takao?

Y/N: Nonoka-

Nonoka: yes... it's him... so what?

It's really is him...

Nonoka looks troubled. Our eyes met and she looks down before standing and walk to her bed.

Nonoka: I'm pissed... I don't know what to feel...

About what?

Nonoka sits on her bed and told me about what happened earlier.

Nonoka: when Minami came out shouting for help and said that you fell, I swore my body froze, I can't move as worries took over my mind...

Nonoka clenches the bedsheets and she looks at her knees.

Nonoka: but... just when the teacher said that we should wait until the rescue team came... that guy... he run straight into the wood...

Dub dub

Takao san...

Nonoka told me that Takao runs to look for me and he did find me before the teacher. He carried me on his back, running to the exit and when the teacher wanted to take me away from him, he asked them to let him carry me.

My heart feels tight as I listen to Nonoka telling me about what happened.

Nonoka: he.. came out of the wood... there are some scratches on his face and arms-

Huh?

Y/N: He, is he wounded? Did he fell?

Nonoka shook her head no.

Nonoka: I... don't know... I don't think so... I think... because he was running through the wood, some low branches probably hit his face and all... but I don't think he fell...

Why? That much?...

Nonoka: I'm... mad... I'm mad because he dares to hold you but... I'm thankful... because he... without thinking... running straight to your side when I... just stand on my ground...

Y/N: Nonoka...

Nonoka stands and gently pushes me back to lay on my back.

Nonoka: ah stop... no more asking... sleep and rest... this is the most I talked about that black-haired- sharp eyes-basketball- asshole since the day he hurt you...

Nonoka covers my body with blanket and turns off the light before laying on her back.

Takao helped me out, he even got wounded. I at least want to thank him. I look at Nonoka on her bed.

Y/N: Nonoka...

Nonoka: I know what's on your mind... I don't like you go near that guy... but...

Nonoka hides herself completely under her blanket.

Nonoka: if you want to thank him... I... wont hold you back...

Seeing Nonoka like that makes me smile. I'm glad to have a friend like her.

Takao's face came into my mind again

■3rd Person POV■

Midorima and Takao are walking to to their room again. After Takao took Y/N to her room, he came back to the hunting game area because he wanted to get something out of his mind. After every group finished, the teacher and committee wrap it up and told the students to return to their room.

As the two climbs the stairs, Takao thinks about Y/N. He's wondering about her condition and want to check up on her.

Takao: Midorima... you think... we can stop by? Just a bit...

Midorima: L/N's room? She might be still unconscious... and Kumakiri might not gonna let you in...

Takao: I know...

Midorima looks at his friend and then sighs. He then changes the direction of his feet, making Takao looks at his friend. Takao can't help but feel thankful. Now the two are heading to Y/N's room.

When they just turned on the corridor towards Y/N room, they see someone stands in front of Y/N's room. Minami is standing in front of Y/N's room, pondering whether she should knock or not.

Takao: you... Y/N's pair from the treasure hunt...

Minami was startled when she hears Takao's voice. She looks at Takao and Midorima heading her ways and became anxious.

Takao: what are you doing here?

Minami looks uneasy, it seems like she wants to said something but qfraid at the same time. Moreover she thoughy that Takao is someone close with Fuyumi. Midorima notices that this girl seems afraid of Takao so he walks in front of Takao and stare at her.

Midorima: just say whatever is bugging you...

Minami eyes tear up and she looks down.

Minami: I... want to apologize... to L/N...

Both Takao and Midorima are surprised to see her crying.

Takao: oi, it's an accident anyway... Y/N is not someone who'll get mad...

As the three visitors are talking in front of her room, Y/N who hasn't fall asleep, and Nonoka who's just hiding under her blanket decided to check on the commotion.

Nonoka: why are there people buzzing in front of our room... I'm trying to sleep..

Y/N: let's check it up...

Nonoka told Y/N to lay down but she refuses. And now they're walking towards the door. The moment Y/N opens the door, all eyes from the other side of the door are om her.

Y/N sees Minami, Midorima and of course Takao. The two are surprised to see each other.

Y/N: T-Takao san?

Y/N noticed that there are some scratches on Takao's cheeks and arms through his folded sleeve.

Takao: Y/N, you... is it okay for you to get up? Are you hurt anywhere else other than your head?

Y/N tells everyone what she feels, trying to make them less worried about her. Just then, Minami suddenly bows her head, surprising everyone.

Minami: L/N! I'm so sorry... b-because of me... you..

Y/N tries to make Minamo stop bowing.

Y/N: Mi-minami stop it... it's alright... it's an accide-

Minami: but it is not an accident... I... did it on purpose... I'm sorry...

Everyone are stunned to hear this. Minami has tears falling to the ground. Nonoka om the other hand is boiled when she heard that.

Nonoka: what do you mean by doing it on purpose?

Nonoka walks angrily to Minami, frightened the girl. Y/N knows that Nonoka will do something to Minami so she stops her.

Y/N : Nonoka stop...

Nonoka: But she-

Y/N gently pushes Nonoka back, preventing her from getting closer to Minami. Y/N then look at Minami and stares at her.

Y/N: Minami... what do you mean?

Minami looks at Y/N with tears all over her cheeks. Everyone are stunned to see the girl crying just because of a mere guilt of tripping and bump onto Y/N until they hear what she says after.

Minami: I... didn't trip... I actually bump onto you in my own acord... I didn't think you will fell into the ravine...

Nonoka: LIKE WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING ABOUT DOING SOMETHING SO DANGEROUS!?

Nonoka marches to Minami but Y/N hold her still.

Minami: I'm sorry... I... was threatened... my wrongdoing in the past will be spilled... and... I don't want to lose what I have right now...

As he hears this, Takao has a big picture who might the person be. Y/N watches as Takao walks closer to Minami. Minami looks up and stiffens as she sees Takao's serious face.

Takao: don't try to hide it... no need to hide it... spill it, who told you to do that, though I already have the clear image of her...

Y/N stares at Takao, surprised to see him talking un a stern voice.

Minami: it's... Mikami Fuyumi...

Y/N was surprised as she hears this, wondering why would Fuyumi do that to her. Takao's hands clenched, he turns around and heads to the 2nd floor balcony, knowing that Fuyumi will be there with her friends. Midorima just watch him and then told Minami to just take it easy.

Midorima: L/N, you should rest...

Nonoka: after knowing that a bitch was trying to harm her? Hell no I'm gonna throw hands...

Nonoka walks past Y/N but Midorima stands on her way.

Midorima: no need...

Nonoka and Y/N looks up at Midorima. Midorima look at the way where Takao is heading.

Midorima: someone... will throw somethinf more than just throwing hands...

As she realizes what he means, Y/N wants to go to prevent Takao from fighting with Fuyumi but Midorina catch her hand preventing her from going.

Y/N: Midorina san... I... please let me go... they can't fight... Takao san... will regret it later if Mikami leaves him again...

Midorima stares at the smaller girl next to him. Knowing how hurt she must be when Takao cheated on her, making Midorima kind of glad to see that she still thinks about Takao's well being.

Midorima: L/N... he already regretted one thing... if he didn't face Mikami, he'll regret it even more...

Y/n doesn't really get what Midorima means, so she pulls her hand away and head to where Takao is. Midorima and Nonoka follows her. Just when the two arrives at the balcony.

Fuyumi: what proof do you have? Minami could have done it on her own!

Takao: you talked to Minami after I refused to go in pair with you... moreover Minami doesn't know Y/N before she became her pair...

Fuyumi looks enraged, she doesn't even realizes that some of her friends are still with them, untill they left. Y/N, Nonoka and Midorima stands on the corridor, hiding behind the wall.

Fuyumi: If it's true then why are you so angry?? Why do you have to be so worried? You left her for me!

Takao: and that was my biggest mistake.... that was... my biggest regret...

Fuyumi was dumbfounded when she hears this, so does Y/N who listened from the other side of the wall.

■Takao's POV■

Fuyumi's eyes widened, face is red with anger. I've never seen her so furiois like this, she was the sweet girl in my memories.

Fuyumi: you regretted leaving that girl, for me? Don't joke around... she's just a rebound because I left you! You're confused with your own feelings...

Takao: yes, I was confused with my own feeling... but not for her.. but for you... when you came to me knowing that I'm with Y/N, you keep talking about our old days...

We are chairmate, since she came back she keeps on talking about our old days, and I stupidly drowned in the memories.

Takao: remembering our times before you left was fun... and I mistook that feelings for love... but the moment i realized it... it's already too late... I've hurt the girl who mend my heart... the girl who cared a lot about me...

Y/N is the one who cheer me up...

Takao: the girl... that I love...

Fuyumi: you can't compare me to her!

Takao: yes I can't... you guys are very different... because Y/N... even if she was jealous... she would never retort to this kind of scheme...

Fuyumi looks stunned.

Fuyumi: so... you meant I'm jealous of her? The rebound girl....

Takao: why else? You don't know each other... you're doing this because you realize... how I can't take my eyes away from her... you're jealous of Y/N...

I can see how angry Fuyumi by now. She came to me and point at my chest.

Fuyumi: if I left you, you're goint to regret this Takao Kazunari.

Regret huh?

Can I regret anything even more than losing Y/N? I don't think I can.

Takao: I... don't think I'll regret anything more than hurting Y/N... from losing her... because... I really love her...

After I said this Fuyumi walk past me and leave. I sighs, hoping that she'll never do anything to harm Y/N again.

I turn around and walk inside, but just when I'm about to turn. My heart skips a beat as I see Kumakiri, Midorima and Y/N.

Takao: Y-Y/N?

Y/N stares at me, eyes widened.

Did she hear it?

I'm scared that she'll be angry and I can't face it if she were to hate me again.

Takao: forget it...

Y/N looks surprised.

Takao: just... forget you hear anything... I'm sorry for saying things like that to her... you... don't have to think about it... it's late... you better rest... I'll go too...

Without waiting to hear Y/N say anything, I walk past her and head to my voice. I even didn't wait for Midorima, I'm to scared to see if Y/N will be angry at me.

Regretting something other than hurting Y/N...

Or forgetting my feelings for her...
